Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by A Daily Rhythm. Anyone can play along! All you have to do is grab the book you’re currently reading, open to a random page and share two sentences from that page. But make sure you don’t share any spoilers!
I can’t even begin to explain to you how I feel about this book and the man it’s about, without sounding like a complete and utter fangirl. So I’m not going to say much and just write the sentences. I’ll leave the fangirling for my review. What I will say is that this is a biography of perhaps one of the bravest people in history. It’s definitely putting life into perspective and got me thinking about why we idolise the people that we do in modern society. Anyway, here are my sentences:
“So Noel signed the leave book at the Royal Southern for the last time, booking himself out from 2 to 16 August, 1914, and set off for Hornby Camp, north Lancashire, with his fellow junior officers. Dr Power, the locus who was to undertake his duties during those two weeks, waited in vain to be relieved. Noel Chavasse never returned to the hospital.”
What are you reading at the moment? Feel free to share some sentences in the comments section!
