Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by A Daily Rhythm. Anyone can play along! All you have to do is grab the book you’re currently reading, open to a random page and share two sentences from that page. But make sure you don’t share any spoilers!
This week’s Teaser Tuesday is from Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith. It’s a Cold War thriller, which is sort of the thing I love to read these days, but rather than being set in England (which is what I’m used to), it’s set in Russia. It’s nice to be on the other side of the Iron Curtain for a change. It’s safe to say I’m completely smitten with the book. The story so far is amazing, the writing is brilliant, and it certainly warrants the film adaptation which is being released soonish (it could already be out where you are – I have no idea of the release date in Australia). And now for the sentences:
“He had little doubt that he’d eventually arrest Anatoly Brodsky, he just wanted proof; some sign of guilt other than mere conjecture. In short, he wanted to feel OK about arresting him.”
What are you reading at the moment? Feel free to share some sentences in the comments section, or link to your own Teaser Tuesday post!
