Top Ten Tuesday: my 10 favourite literary loves

The theme for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday from The Broke and the Bookish, is ‘Valentine’s Day’. Despite my bah-humbug feelings towards Valentine’s Day (it’s so commercialised), and the fact that really I’m a cynic, and I find couples gushing over each other on social media incredibly tedious, I won’t deny that I love love, and I love the idea of celebrating love – just keep the OTT PDAs to a minimum please. Love in books can be completely breathtaking, and make you hope for that kind of love. The one that begins on a windswept moor, or with a chance encounter in the street. Or when two people, who’ve known each other forever, finally find it in each other after looking in all the wrong places. It can also make you cry your heart out, and hope you never love like that because it hurts. My 10 Favourite Book Characters On Screen

A few days ago I was tagged in a blog hop by Lisa Hope. Lisa’s post was about her ten favourite screen characters. Unfortunately I watch more tv and movies than I should and as a result of this, I have too many favourite characters. Therefore it is a nigh on impossible task to whittle them down to ten. So I thought I’d tweak it a bit and narrow down the scope to my ten favourite book characters to be brought to life on the screen. This is probably the toughest thing I’ve ever had to do, and there are so many characters I would love to have included – and I’m sure there will be many others to hit the screen in the future which will somehow wheedle their way into the top ten. I’d be interested to know people’s thoughts on my list, and to hear what people would have in their own top ten! So please feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments section.
